Java Game on Raspberry Pi

I try to get Java and LWJGL running on a Raspberry Pi,

so I can run some little games on it.

To install OpenJDK 1.7 run the following command in your terminal:

sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre

This will install the Runtime, if you need the development kit too, run:

sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jdk

I found ready to use .jars for LWJGL for the Raspberry available on GitHub:

Raspberry LWJGL Repository

The Repository contains two builds, the “armel” for soft-float and the “armhf” for hard-float. Which one you need depends on the image you use. (hard-float is default)

Here is a nice minecraft-alike game, which uses the library and is also opensource: Blocky

I think this is a great project to start with when you already know the basics of Java.
